My Knitted Beard
For those who cannot grow their own
`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`
When I started knitting, I wanted to work my way up to making cool things, like blankets and hats! After I had made some scarves and hats, I wanted to move on to something different, which brings today's post. I found (and payed for) this pattern on www.knitpicks.com, and I found that it was challenging, but really cool! Not only did I enjoy it, but I was very pleased by the challenge, because I am a beginner in the world of knitting. I was happy to find help for the wrap and turn stitch on Youtube, and with two days, I had a complete beard and mustache. I found that among my family, my brother would enjoy it the most, so I wrapped it and gave it as a Christmas present.
The materials I used were:
-Bernat Softee Chunky Dark Taupe yarn super bulky.
-Size 10-1/2 straight needles
The pattern was $1.99, and what really helped was printing the pages so that I could make notes, or cross off any rows I'd already finished.
This was the end result, and it can be hooked to a hat, or just have a string to go over the ears. The color can be any color, but I figured I could just tell you what I used.
I hope you take the time to make one of your own, because they are fun and worth the yarn to make :). Bye!
